Floral Crown DIY

Ever have an hour....or 3 where you pin a ton of cute DIY's on Pinterest, and then you lie to yourself and believe that you WILL do it all.  You WILL make that pallet outdoor bench for your patio.  And you WILL recover your dining room chairs.  And you WILL Modge Podge your 2014 vision board, annndd you NEVER get to it.

Yeah that's not actually me. Haha. (gotcha!)

I tend to run with a different crowd where the Secret Garden party baby showers, and the Zoo animal themed birthday parties ARE actually executed.  I live in a world where my stay at home mom friends DO those cool little photo shoots with their kids and they totally look like models.  I run with "the creative crowd," and one of the leaders of this pack is my friend Lauryn.  This girl has more creativity in her pinky than most people wish they had in their life. I mean she is the kind of girl that has miniature horses show up to her kids' birthday party.  Lauryn specializes in all things visual.  She is a planner, artist, crafter, visionary, and she gets it done!  Oh and can we also just talk about how AMAZING her website is?!  http://rynndition.com

Lauryn decided to host a women's small group through our church for a semester, and every evening for a few weeks we would make something.  We would craft. We would chat over artisan coffee all while trying to figure out how a macrame wall piece would ultimately be the death of us. (I'll give you  a minute to go search on Pinterest for macrame. WAY harder than it looks)

On this particular night we made floral crowns using fresh flowers. We were set on being a hipster dream girl out of every Anthroplogie fantasy we've ever had...all while wearing our clothes that we had worked in all day. A girl can dream. We followed closely along to Lauren Conrad's instructional flower crown tutorial, and bam- within minutes we were hipster-floral-crown-wearing-princesses.

Disclaimer: This blog is not any kind of instructional on how to actually make a flower crown, it's just a blog to brag about how amazing and creative my friends are.  Oh oops, I guess I should have put this at the beginning.  #sorrynotsorry

Happy Flower Crown Making!
