Kitchen Makeover

Welcome to my home. This is my kitchen.  It has personal problems. 

These are our kitchen cabinets...that are about to be demolished. Hooray!

Our 50 year old tile counter top is dilapidated and continually sagging 

since the dishwasher below was installed incorrectly. 

Which causes it to crack and look ever-so-lovely. 

This is the sink faucet that barely fits between the sink and the wall..and it leaks. 

Goodbye old kitchen...let the demolition begin! 

In the process of demo-ing the kitchen, we discovered that our entire plumbing lines had been eaten through and had to replace them and the wall. Notice that nice hole in the corner. 

Installing the first cabinets and our Viking dishwasher. 

Make-shift countertop, until the granite arrives.

Let me take a moment to relish in the frugality of my wonderful husband.  He found our appliances from an appliance dealer on Craigslist.  

The first a Viking Professional Series Dishwasher. The second was a brand new LG stainless gas double oven.  These appliances retail for $1800 to $1900 EACH, and 

we paid less that $1100 for both of them. Whoop! 

The granite arrives! When we first started talking about a kitchen remodel, I hated the idea of having a granite countertop.  I didn't like all of the flecks in it, however, our granite guy found the perfect match that I loved - Black Pearl! 

And the best part of the kitchen...the organization of my drawers! 

Yes, the drawer lights up when you open it...I know GENIUS right?!
