Easy Weekend Closet Makeover
Even the smallest home improvement project can make you feel like you have a new life. After much frustration with our master bedroom closet we decided it was time for a little re-org.
Basically there were only 2 main clothing racks, some make-shift baskets hooked on the top shelf, a Pinterest project of a jewelry hanger, and about a foot or two of complete disorganization of our shoes that you had to wade in. Oh and the top shelf of the closet that had our other shoes and husband's gym clothes in piles. Sheesh -- SO OVERWHELMING!
After emptying the closet and transferring piles and piles of clothes and shoes into the guest bedroom we decided that the homemade shelves that we had just weren't going to cut it. Although they were pretty secure into the wall, we needed more space.
We figured out that if we could move the top shelf and clothes rack up a few inches, we could add another half shelf and rack and get some of our shoes off of the ground. We ended up going to Lowe's to found some great and affordable closet solutions.
We purchased several pieces from the allen + roth closet collection from Lowe's.
- 2 of the 72 inch white wood shelves
- 2 of the 48 inch white wood shelves
- 1 white wood closet tower
- 3 wire baskets to go into the tower
All of this for under $450 made for a great design for the new space. I didn't take a picture of the closet before we added our closet back in. I was way too excited people! I needed to experience the fullness of it's glory!
While I lost my Pinterest project jewelry holder I was so grateful for the tower that added some additional storage.
Easy weekend project = organized life! BEFORE & AFTER
